We selected this film for its originality how it presents the social behaviour against strangers in the today media driven world. As well we think that the actor shows in a sensitive way how social exclusion and isolation can have a huge impact on a human. This deepness which is presented in a humorous way wouldn't have been possible without this great directing work. We wish the director and the main actor a lot of success in the future work and we are hoping to see more of them both.

This film shows in an impressive way how bullying can affect a human. This vicious circle of fear, anger, helplessness and degradation is shown in different levels in this film. Especially in the time of #metoo it is important to show the voice of the oppressed. The film shows this imbalance in power in a very energetic, forceful and focused way.

Con una capacità non comune di ambientare la storia in un mondo che le immagini sanno trasformare e che restano filtrate dagli occhi del bambino protagonista, il film racconta una storia di diversità e di disagio, rifugiandosi in una fantasia taumaturgica e salvifica. Un cinema visionario che traduce con grande efficacia l'universo infantile affidandosi alla forza poetica di immagini che trovano nell'impeccabile montaggio e nella sensibilità narrativa della fotografia la loro compiuta dignità.

Excellent animation technique. Balance between original storytelling and tributes to old classical fables such as Rapunzel and the Beauty and the Beast. The sense of humour is understood internationally. Movement of the figures aesthetically seem to emulate brushstrokes. Good movement of the figures and appropriate rhythm and duration of the film.

Excellent production design. The contrast of deep idealistic human sentiment, between two figures that are non-human. On a metaphorical level, one can compare the society which moves on emotionless represented by the robots soldiering on and the one robot who refuses to move on with his emotions of loss and grievance.

La giuria si è trovata allineata nel giudizio pur non confrontandosi. Quindi sono pochissimi i voti di scarto per la nomina del vincitore della sezione CANTAREL. Si può dire che ha vinto la tecnica di realizzazione che più si è staccata ed ha stimolato la ricerca delle tecniche inusuali. Vince ON THE OUTSIDE proposta da TULIPOMANIA. Notevole nota riguardo la tecnica utilizzata molto inerente anche con le sonorità proposte.
